Support

Help

Support is available throughout opening hours. Anyone can drop in and ask a question.

The Library staff can help with:

  • using the computers
  • researching and using resources
  • evaluating information
  • referencing and avoiding plagiarism
  • If your enquiry is more in-depth, we can arrange for more detailed support, even a small workshop for a group of friends.

    Guides

The Library staff have written a range of guides to help users: on resources for specific subjects, electronic resources, referencing etc. Printed guides are available in the Hub, online versions via the Subject Guides and iSkills areas of the Library website.

    iSkills

The iSkills section of the website includes useful information about researching and using information - including guides, interactive tutorials and links.

    Inductions

The student induction usually takes place during the first month of the college year and introduces you to the Library and the resources for your course. If you missed it, or want a refresher, just ask a member of Library staff.

    Link Librarians

Each curriculum area has a designated Link Librarian, responsible for providing resources and support in those subject areas. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions about the Library services, please get in touch.

    Angela Hawkins, Assistant Librarian
